ABOUT Embodied Motherhood

THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND MY WORk

My approach is rooted in the belief that your body holds wisdom and deserves to be met with compassion, not pressure. Through an embodied motherhood lens, I integrate nervous system awareness, somatic practices, and gentle guidance to support you in reconnecting with yourself, building resilience, and moving through life with more ease and presence.

Embodied Motherhood

Embodied motherhood is rooted in the belief that caring for mothers is essential — not only for their wellbeing, but for the wellbeing of their families and communities. It is about supporting the mother as she cares for everyone else, honoring her needs, her capacity, and the wisdom held within her body.

So much of prenatal, pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood focuses on the baby, logistics, and physical recovery, yet what is often missing is support for a mother’s internal experience — her nervous system, emotional landscape, identity shifts, and connection to her body. This is where somatic work becomes deeply meaningful.

Somatic practices help mothers reconnect with their bodies through awareness, gentle movement, and nervous system support. This work allows you to release tension patterns, build resilience, and cultivate a sense of safety within yourself during a season that can feel both beautiful and overwhelming.

By learning to listen inward and respond to your body’s cues, you are able to show up more present, grounded, and regulated — not only for your children, but for yourself. From this place of connection, motherhood becomes less about depletion and more about sustainable care.

Embodied motherhood is also about community. It recognizes that mothers are not meant to do this alone and creates space for shared experience, support, and belonging.

For many women, this season awakens a deeper awareness of their strength, intuition, and inner power. It is a time of profound transformation — an invitation to reconnect with the wisdom of your body and step more fully into yourself.

When mothers are supported in caring for themselves, they create ripple effects that extend far beyond their own lives. Showing up for ourselves allows us to model presence, resilience, and compassion, helping to create a more connected and supportive world for our children.

A Nervous System Lens

Much of how we experience stress, overwhelm, and emotional reactivity is shaped by the state of our nervous system. By learning to recognize your body’s signals and responses, you can begin to shift patterns with greater awareness and compassion.

Together, we focus on building regulation skills that help you feel more grounded, resilient, and supported in your day-to-day life.

Somatic Yoga in This Work

Somatic yoga is a gentle invitation to come home to your body.

Rather than focusing on achieving poses or pushing past limits, we slow down and listen. Through small, intentional movements and guided awareness, you begin to notice sensations, release tension patterns, and build a deeper sense of safety and trust within yourself.

In the journey of embodied motherhood, this practice supports you in reconnecting with your body not as something to fix, but as something to partner with. It honors the wisdom of your nervous system and creates space to move with more ease, presence, and compassion.

How This Differs from Traditional Yoga

Traditional yoga often emphasizes alignment, structured sequences, and external form. Somatic yoga shifts the focus inward — toward sensation, curiosity, and nervous system awareness.

There is no perfect pose here. You are encouraged to move slowly, rest often, and follow what feels supportive in your body. The intention is not performance, but connection.

Why We Use Somatic Yoga

Somatic yoga is woven into this work to support:

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Rebuilding trust with your body

  • Reducing overwhelm and chronic tension

  • Supporting emotional wellbeing through body awareness

  • Cultivating presence in motherhood and daily life

A Trauma-Sensitive Approach

All practices are offered with choice, autonomy, and respect for your lived experience. You are always encouraged to move in ways that feel supportive and to rest when needed. The goal is not performance, but connection.

An Invitation

If you’re longing to feel more at home in your body, to move through motherhood with greater ease, or to have a space where you can slow down and reconnect with yourself — you are welcome here.

This work is not about fixing who you are, but about supporting you in remembering your capacity for resilience, presence, and self-trust.

Wherever you are in your journey, we begin there, together.
